Review of Harmonic Mitigation Methods in Microgrid: From a Hierarchical Control Perspective

The microgrid concept has been emerged into the power system to provide reliable, renewable, and cheaper electricity for rising global demand. When microgrids are introduced, there will be several concerns, such as active reactive powers' sharing, load management, connecting main grid, voltage current deviations. Recently, with fast deployment of distributed generation, methods mitigate harmonics caused by nonlinear loads electronic devices have become one focus areas. Consequently, many research works devoted this area, introducing different harmonic mitigation suitable microgrids. Hence, goal article is clearly present a comprehensive review from hierarchical control viewpoint. strategies proposed classified three groups: primary, secondary, tertiary. Furthermore, overview draws sketch on trends in an ac directly applicable today's smart grid applications.
